Barista – Job DescriptionPosition Summary: A Barista is responsible for preparing and serving coffee and other beverages to customers in a café or food service environment. The role involves interacting with customers, taking orders, operating coffee machines, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. A Barista should provide excellent customer service while ensuring consistency in beverage preparation and presentation. Key Responsibilities:Greet customers warmly and take their beverage and food orders accurately Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold drinks, including espresso-based beverages, teas, and specialty drinks Operate coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other café equipment safely and efficiently Follow recipes and presentation standards to maintain product quality and consistency Handle payments using POS systems and issue receipts Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation, counters, and seating areas Restock supplies such as cups, lids, napkins, milk, syrups, etc. Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines at all times Respond to customer inquiries and complaints professionally Assist in opening and closing duties, including cleaning equipment and locking up Required Skills and Qualifications:Previous experience as a Barista or in a food service role preferred Knowledge of coffee and espresso brewing techniques is a plus Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to multitask and work under pressure Strong attention to detail and cleanliness Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays Basic math skills for handling cash and POS transactions Work Environment:Fast-paced café or food retail setting Requires standing for long periods May involve lifting light to medium loads (up to 10–15 kg)
