Backend Engineer ML Systems AVP

As an ML Systems Engineer with ML Ops experience joining the ML Solutions team within Markets OPS Technology, your main focus will be on building and maintaining scalable backend systems, deploying data science models, and designing robust pipelines to integrate DS solutions into applications. You will work closely with data scientists and front end engineers to bridge the gap between data science and production-ready systems, playing a crucial role in operationalizing data science models and improving data science workflows. - Hands-on development of ML Systems backend infrastructure, messaging, and integration with interfacing systems - Design, build, and maintain APIs, Microservices, and systems to serve data science models - Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of ML Infrastructure systems - Work with SQLAlchemy to define, maintain, and query the database schema for applications - Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data science models and services - Manage and optimize Kubernetes cluster via Openshift - Collaborate with data scientists to deploy models successfully into production systems - Optimize backend services and data science model inference for latency and throughput - Drive the adoption of modern engineering practices like Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD - Conduct code reviews, enforce secure coding practices, and ensure compliance with security standards - Implement and enforce automated testing, infrastructure as code, and continuous monitoring - Advocate for Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) to ensure code quality - Work with a Python web framework (FastAPI, Flask, Django), Machine Learning, MLOps principles, and ORM tools like SQLAlchemy - Manage and debug necessary infrastructure to support a full stack application - Proficiency in Python - Hands-on experience with Python web frameworks - Peripheral knowledge in Machine Learning and Data Science - Working knowledge in MLOps principals - Hands-on experience with DB-driven applications and using ORM tools - Experience deploying and maintaining production applications - Experience working with Kubernetes and stream processing tools like Kafka or Apache Spark - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field The ML Solutions team within Markets OPS Technology is dedicated to developing solutions using Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Generative AI.
