Backend Developer

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and seasoned Python Developer to become a valuable member of our expanding technology team. The ideal candidate should possess a high level of proficiency in Django and Wagtail CMS, along with hands-on experience in working with SQL-based databases and deploying applications on AWS or other cloud infrastructure. This role primarily focuses on comprehensive backend development and close collaboration with diverse teams to create scalable and sustainable web applications and content platforms. Responsibilities: Application Development: - Design, create, and uphold web applications utilizing Python, Django, and Wagtail CMS. - Construct and oversee APIs and connections with both internal and external systems. Database Design & Management: - Craft efficient and optimized SQL queries. - Supervise and sustain data structures, migrations, and performance enhancements for SQL databases. CMS & Content Management: - Personalize and broaden Wagtail CMS functionality to align with business needs. - Partner closely with content and product teams to ensure seamless editorial workflows. Cloud Infrastructure: - Deploy and oversee Django applications on AWS or analogous cloud platforms. - Cooperate with DevOps teams to administer CI/CD pipelines, server environments, and monitoring. Quality & Performance: - Generate clean, testable, and sustainable code in compliance with best practices. - Identify and rectify bugs and performance impediments. Required Qualifications: Experience: - A minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional background as a backend Python developer. Technical Skills: - Profound expertise in Python, Django, and Wagtail CMS. - Substantial experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL. - Sound knowledge of cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS) and application deployment. - Familiarity with version control tools like Git.
