Backend Developer

We are seeking a backend developer to join our core engineering team dedicated to developing backend applications for a highly scalable web and mobile-based software product. As a backend developer, you will play a crucial role in utilizing technologies such as Django to create web applications that align with product specifications. Collaboration with various team members and stakeholders, particularly design, front-end, and QA teams, will be essential to capture business requirements and execute technical feature implementations effectively. Your responsibilities will include setting up and managing projects in staging/production environments, developing APIs based on project requirements, writing code for web applications, building rest APIs and user interfaces, integrating apps with cloud platforms like AWS or third-party APIs, as well as implementing new features, rearchitecting existing code bases for scalability, and ensuring service scalability. Additionally, you will integrate user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic, stabilize and scale the data platform, optimize cost efficiency, and adapt to new requirements swiftly. Your role will involve working on back-end web application architecture, including RESTful APIs, security, efficient caching, and databases, designing, building, and testing reusable, efficient code for high user traffic, and implementing security and data protection measures. You should demonstrate proficiency in developing projects throughout their life cycle, possess strong debugging skills, write and execute unit test cases, handle user authentication and authorization across multiple systems, servers, and environments, automate processes for building, testing, documenting, and deploying applications at scale, ensure accessibility and security compliance, and exhibit enthusiasm for innovative development. Working independently, adapting to a dynamic team environment, and being open to growth opportunities are also key aspects of this role. Experience with A/B experimentation and data-driven product development is a bonus. This is a full-time position with benefits such as paid sick time and paid time off.
