Role & responsibilities :- Hands on experience in architecting, setting up and configuring database instances, clusters, and replication in non-cloud and cloud environments to meet scalability, performance, and cost optimization objectives, while ensuring data integrity and security. Perform routine database administration tasks such as backups, upgrades and audits. Implement security measures and data encryption for database environments to maintain the highest security possible. Proficiency in SQL programming and query optimization to ensure query performance is maintained at required levels. Experience in setting up and monitoring database metrics, auditing and mitigation planning in case of issues Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, testing and stakeholders) to understand business requirements and design solutions for databases. Document database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Identify opportunities for automation and scripting to streamline routine database administration tasks. Implement scalability strategies to accommodate growing data volumes and increased user demands. Stay updated with the latest cloud database technologies and trends to ensure continuous improvement and innovation. Evaluate cloud services and technologies to determine the best fit for specific use cases. Preferred candidate profile : Required Skills Minimum of 4 years of experience as Azure Database Administrator (PaaS, SaaS), with Implementations, Upgrades, Migrations, conversions, and consolidation Projects with Microsoft SQL Server Databases. Have a good working understanding in Core SQL DBA Architecture, Backups/Recovery and Performance Tuning exercise, monitoring and champions automation (PowerShell) to work at the highest level of all phases of Database Administration Evaluates and proposes design and process improvements to achieve performance and cost optimization Identifies inefficiencies in current database designs and oversees the implementation of improved solutions Supports strategic planning for database architecture, resource management, and capacity planning and growth Implements effective risk management controls and owns adherence to all compliance related items (exceptions, waivers, risks, technical compliance, and access control Plans and implements capacity and resource expansion to ensure scalability of databases Troubleshooting and deep dive into SQL server issues / performance Ensures best practices in database planning, design, configuration, performance, and resilience Leads incident resolution efforts and engages appropriate resources to complete corrective actions as quickly as possible i.e. Takes ownership of problems & incidents. Manages root cause analysis and problem management activities for continuous improvement initiatives, incident reduction, and performance enhancement Plans and participates in disaster recovery exercises, system failover planning, and testing Perks and benefits
