Assistant Vice President People Advisory Support - FTC Role
FTC Role for 1 Year.
Business: HR Advisory Offshore
Principal Responsibilities
- Enable complex interpretation of policy and procedures and provide oversight of some complex events such as e.g., redundancy projects, working with the HR Business Partner, HR Consultants, People Solutions, and other specialist teams where required.
- Engage and Support people managers and employees in navigating complex people challenges across the spectrum of People Services with coaching and advice to help resolve the challenges.
- Apply a risk-based approach within the commercial context and considering the need to protect and promote the bank's reputation when providing support and guidance related to people issues.
- Collaborate with People Solutions, Business Partners, and other SMEs for opportunities, continuous improvement, and resolutions for complex cases, system, or process improvement.
- Apply problem-solving skills and analytical reasoning with HR knowledge to find appropriate solutions to complex people challenges that arise, escalating for guidance or decisions where appropriate.
- Demonstrates contribution to knowledge management content to support continuous improvement of People services and products.
- Maintain and observe all HSBC control standards and observe the Group People FIM, including adherence with recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators.
- Independently operate the ServiceNow and RET tools to ensure logging of project data and management queries effectively, ensuring case details are logged accurately and no data or privacy risk concerns.
- Implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer, or Local Compliance Officer.

- Manage expectations of the Business and other stakeholders and ensure all parties involved are aware of their roles and responsibilities.
- Escalate any queries/issues that are outside own knowledge/experience.
- Work effectively and professionally with colleagues across the Organisation.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to management to contribute to improved quality and efficiency of area activities.
- Help cultivate an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand, thereby contributing towards high employee engagement and motivation.
- Be sensitive to cross cultural nuances and exhibit maturity and tolerance in managing the same.
Requirements
- Qualifications in Human Resources or relevant field - 8+ years
- Experience of managing the people aspects of change programs.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills / attention to detail (E). Proven ability to work well under pressure within demanding and changing timescales/deadline and with varied stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to maintain effective working relationships with teams, peers, senior management, and business stakeholder.
- Strict adherence to the requirements of confidentiality, discretion and integrity
- Good understanding and knowledge of MS office (Excel, PowerPoint), ServiceNow tool.
