AVP, Cloud DevOps Engineer - Platform

The AVP, Cloud DevOps Engineer - Platform at Synchrony plays a crucial role in leading the implementation of automation platforms across cloud solutions. As part of the Cloud & Platform group within the CTO organization, you will work on developing and deploying AWS-based platforms, utilizing Terraform for automation, and building automation scripts to optimize platform deployment and management. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless platform integration and functionality is key, along with ensuring compliance with financial industry standards and best practices. To excel in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or cloud architecture. Alternatively, 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or cloud architecture can be considered in lieu of a degree. Hands-on experience in designing and deploying solutions on AWS, along with a background in banking or other highly regulated industries focusing on compliance frameworks, is desirable. Proficiency in IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK, as well as a deep understanding of cloud networking, identity management, security, and governance, are essential. Your responsibilities will include building and enabling core platforms, cloud infrastructure development, automation engineering, and promoting best practices for cloud architecture, governance, and operations across the organization. Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration, proficiency in analyzing complex challenges, and the ability to adapt to evolving technologies are desired attributes for this role. Additionally, you should be ready to work between 06:00 AM and 11:30 AM Eastern Time to accommodate meetings with India and US teams, with flexibility in the remaining hours as per company policy.
