Role & responsibilities

Autosys Engineer -

Core Technical Skills

1. Talend Expertise

• Strong understanding of Talend Job design and deployment.
• Familiarity with TAC job scheduling, triggers, and context parameters.
• Experience with Talend job execution monitoring and logs.

2. AutoSys Expertise

• Proficient in creating, configuring, and managing AutoSys jobs (JIL scripting).
• Deep knowledge of AutoSys features: job dependencies, calendars, box jobs, and condition handling.
• Ability to script and automate AutoSys job creation and management.

3. Scripting Skills

• Shell scripting (Bash/Korn)

  for UNIX/Linux environments.

• Windows batch scripting

  (if Talend jobs run on Windows).
• Optional: Python or Perl for automation tasks.

4. Job Orchestration and Workflow Mapping

• Ability to analyze existing Talend schedules and dependencies.
• Skill in mapping these workflows to equivalent AutoSys job structures.

5. Database and Logging Knowledge

• Basic SQL for querying Talend logs or AutoSys job metadata.
• Familiarity with RDBMSs like MySQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
