An automotive technician, also known as a mechanic, diagnoses, repairs, and maintains vehicles. Their responsibilities encompass routine maintenance, complex repairs, and diagnostic testing. Key Responsibilities: Routine Maintenance: Performing oil changes, tire rotations, and other preventative maintenance tasks. Diagnostic Testing: Using diagnostic tools to identify vehicle problems and determine the cause. Repair and Replacement: Repairing or replacing worn-out parts, such as brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems. Safety Inspections: Inspecting vehicles for safety and emissions compliance. Customer Communication: Explaining vehicle problems and repairs to customers. Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of repairs and maintenance. Required Skills: Technical Knowledge: Understanding of automotive systems and repair procedures. Problem-solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex vehicle issues. Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in using hand tools and equipment.
