Automation Tester

As an Automation Test Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation test scripts using Playwright, Cypress, and Selenium. You will also implement and execute API automation tests using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or similar. Additionally, you will perform database testing involving SQL queries, data validation, stored procedures, and schema validation. Collaboration with developers, business analysts, and QA team members to understand requirements and define test strategies is a key aspect of your role. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts using Playwright, Cypress, and Selenium. - Implement and execute API automation tests using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or similar. - Perform database testing (SQL queries, data validation, stored procedures, schema validation). - Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA team members to understand requirements and define test strategies. - Develop, maintain, and enhance automation frameworks for web and API testing. - Participate in test planning, estimation, and test case design. - Identify, log, and track defects through defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps). - Execute test cases across different environments and integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps). - Ensure adherence to QA best practices, coding standards, and continuous improvement in automation practices. - Provide test execution reports and support root cause analysis for defects. Required Skills & Qualifications: - 4-6 years of hands-on experience in automation testing. - Strong experience with Playwright, Cypress, and Selenium WebDriver for web application automation. - Proficiency in API testing and automation (REST, SOAP). - Strong knowledge of SQL and database validation techniques. - Solid understanding of test automation frameworks (e.g., POM, BDD with Cucumber). - Experience working with JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Python for automation scripting. - Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps). - Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket). - Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Good to Have: - Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6). - Knowledge of cloud-based testing platforms (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs). - Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies. Educational Qualification: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
