Automation Lead/Architect (Webdriver IO)

As a Lead Quality Engineer within the enterprise product domain at UST, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality, reliable, and scalable software solutions by embedding quality at the core of every project. You will lead your team through challenges, guide testing strategies, and mentor engineers to embrace a quality-first mindset. Collaborating with various stakeholders, you will shape quality standards, influence technical decisions, and drive continuous improvement across the organization. **Key Responsibilities:** - Deliver testing for the Product/Project/Platform team. - Lead Quality Engineers and coordinate testing activities. - Define and implement testing approaches as per the Principal Quality Engineer/Test Manager. - Analyze requirements to determine necessary testing and challenge ambiguous requirements. - Create key documentation including Test Approaches and Test Plans. - Generate essential reports such as Test Progress, Defects, and Requirement/User Story Coverage. - Ensure application of Quality Engineering best practices and processes. - Drive Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices. - Perform hands-on test automation and manual test design and execution. - Peer review documents and test scripts. - Manage defect/bug lifecycle and creation. - Utilize recommended testing tools and identify mock/simulation requirements. - Collaborate with the Simulation Team for implementation. - Identify and facilitate test data needs aligned with the Test Data Strategy. - Book required Testing Environments following the Environment Booking Process. - Manage stakeholders and highlight risks and dependencies. - Actively participate in team ceremonies such as PI Planning, Sprint Planning, and Retrospectives. - Coach and mentor Quality Engineers. **Required Skills & Experience:** - Proven experience as a Lead Quality Engineer with a successful track record in agile environments. - Strong leadership skills and experience in mentoring Quality Engineers. - Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript for testing applications built with React.js, Redux, and Node.js. - Experience with AWS infrastructure, Redis, and DocumentDB for backend systems testing. - Deep knowledge of test automation tools and frameworks such as WebdriverIO and Mocha. - Skilled in using test management tools like Jira XRay and Report Portal. - Ability to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitLab. - Familiarity with test data strategy, environment management, and simulation tooling. - Strong collaboration skills and experience working with cross-functional teams. - Active participation in Agile ceremonies and excellent communication skills.
