Automation Engineer - Python, Java and Workflow Management - Development Lead

As an Automation Engineer - Development Lead at Astellas, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort in various processes. Your expertise in Python, Java, and Workflow Management will be crucial as you analyze business processes, design automation strategies, develop scalable automations, and train end-users. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, integrating automation into workflows, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain automation frameworks for software or hardware systems. - Design, program, and test automated solutions using Python, Java, and other automation languages. - Optimize existing automation solutions for improved performance and reliability. - Collaborate with teams to integrate automation into workflows and provide technical guidance to junior engineers. - Analyze business process requirements and design Python-based applications to support workflow management. - Implement and manage workflow tools for streamlining business processes while ensuring data protection. - Monitor and troubleshoot workflow processes to enhance application performance. - Document procedures, maintain technical specifications, and train users on best practices. - Stay updated with the latest trends in workflow management and Python development. - Provide technical support to internal users, troubleshoot complex issues, and champion continuous improvement initiatives. - Participate in the continuous delivery pipeline, adhering to DevOps best practices. - Collaborate with other teams and mentors to resolve challenges and optimize performance. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. - 5+ years of experience in Python/Automation tool Development and Workflow Management. - Fluent in Japanese and English. - Strong understanding of Python libraries, frameworks, and automation languages. - Experience in automation solutions development and software coding. - Knowledge of front-end technologies, database languages, and SDLC. - Problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and excellent communication abilities. - Experience in Life Sciences/Pharma/Manufacturing industry preferred. - Agile Practices and certifications in relevant automation platforms are advantageous. Preferred Qualifications: - Certifications in Python programming and automation languages. - Training in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and cloud-based automation. - Subject Matter Expertise in data architecture within Life Sciences/Pharma industry. - Strong coding skills in SQL, R, Python, and Java with expertise in machine learning techniques. - Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
