Automation Design Engineer

The purpose of this role is to design automation engineering projects in your assigned area, such as mechanical, electrical, electronics, or software application. As an Automation Design Engineer II, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing project requirements, specifications, plans, designs, and installations. Your primary task will be to design automation equipment ensuring that all stipulated specifications and requirements are met within the allocated budget and timeline. In this position, you will work closely with the Lead Engineer in the respective area to support the design of automation equipment. Your key responsibilities will include designing automation equipment within your expertise area, collaborating with the Project Manager/Engineer to meet project deadlines and budget constraints, and accurately interpreting requirements and specifications for equipment design integration. You will also need to ensure that the design is optimized for manufacturability and act as a liaison with internal or external assemblers/manufacturers to ensure that all parts are manufactured according to the design. Additionally, you will be expected to create design drawings, installation manuals, and user manuals, and log all engineering times into the tracking system for each project. In terms of qualifications, you should possess a strong functional knowledge of mechanical, electronics, electrical, or software application engineering, as well as experience in EMS industries and automation equipment assembly and installation. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electronics/Electrical Engineering is required, along with a minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience in designing and installing automation equipment. Equivalent combinations of education, training, or experience will also be considered for this role.
