Role Overview: As an Audit Manager at Northern Trust, you will be responsible for overseeing and documenting audits across the corporation. Leading audit project teams, your role involves providing guidance to the team, communicating engagement results to management, and offering technical expertise and training to auditors. Working closely with Audit Team Leads and Senior Audit Managers, you will define audit scopes, devise testing approaches, and ensure the successful execution of audits. Major Duties: - Conduct and document complex and high-risk audits within the corporation simultaneously. - Challenge processes to drive improvements and demonstrate professional skepticism. - Assist in the evolution of the Audit Plan by challenging project scoping. - Lead audit teams, review information, assess audit results, and evaluate controls. - Collaborate with Audit Team Leader/Senior Audit Manager on planning, scoping, and execution strategies. - Develop audit budgets, review work papers, and communicate audit status to relevant stakeholders. - Compile findings and recommendations for reports, facilitate timely evaluations, and provide training and coaching to the team. - Operate independently with extensive knowledge of business functions and offer consulting and leadership at a high technical level. - Lead continuous monitoring meetings to drive operational excellence and strategic alignment. Qualification And Skills: - 8 to 12 years of internal audit experience in the financial services industry preferred. - Proficiency in internal audit processes, Microsoft Office applications, and audit work paper applications. - College or University degree, financial institution auditing experience, or public accounting background. - Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CIA, ACA, CFA, ACCA) and/or an MBA are advantageous. - Strong organizational, time management, and adaptability skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
