About the Role:

We are seeking astronomy experts with Olympiad or research backgrounds to join an AI-driven project focused on advancing astronomical reasoning. In this role, you’ll design rigorous, Olympiad-style problems that challenge the limits of AI understanding and help train next-generation reasoning systems.

This short-term, high-impact, and fully remote opportunity is ideal for experienced problem writers, Olympiad medalists, or astronomy educators passionate about bridging science and artificial intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design original, advanced astronomy problems modelled after International Astronomy Olympiad (IAO) standards.
• Evaluate AI-generated solutions for scientific accuracy, reasoning depth, and clarity.
• Identify logical errors, missing derivations, and gaps in problem-solving rigor.
• Deliver accurate, well-structured solutions using LaTeX formatting.
• Maintain the highest levels of scientific precision and conceptual clarity.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an IAO participant, medalist, coach, problem setter, or equivalent (e.g., RAO, USAAO, INAO, EuAO).
• Graduate-level expertise or research experience in Astronomy, Astrophysics, or related Physical Sciences.
• Strong problem-writing and analytical reasoning skills.
• Proficiency in LaTeX for scientific documentation.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
