Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Astronomer located in Delhi, India. The Astronomer will be responsible for conducting nightly sky observations, utilizing modern telescopes to study planets, galaxies, and deep sky objects. Additional tasks include leading educational sessions, developing and maintaining astronomical programs, and assisting guests in understanding and appreciating the night sky. The role also involves collaborating with the team to enhance the overall guest experience.

Qualifications

• Expertise in astronomical observations, telescope operations, and astrophotography
• Experience in public speaking, leading educational sessions, and guest engagement
• Strong research skills and ability to develop engaging astronomy-related programs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for astronomy and a desire to share knowledge with guests
• Ability to work on-site in Delhi, India
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Astronomy, Astrophysics, or in a science field.
• Experience in a similar role or working at an observatory or planetarium is advantageous.
