Associate - Urban Designer

As an Associate - Urban Designer at Arcadis, you will have the opportunity to contribute to visionary planning and placemaking projects across various scales, from large-scale master plans to streetscape design, within our Architecture and Urbanism (A+U) practice. Your role will be crucial in shaping contextual, inclusive, and sustainable urban environments to enhance the quality of life. You will be based in either Gurgaon or Mumbai, working closely with a diverse team of architects, planners, landscape architects, and mobility experts to deliver integrated design outcomes. Your responsibilities will include preparing design concepts, visualizations, and master plans for projects related to urban regeneration, transit-oriented development, and smart cities. Additionally, you will be involved in translating client needs and site conditions into robust urban design frameworks, leading design workshops and stakeholder consultations, and supporting detailed design documentation, urban guidelines, and 3D massing studies. Project management, including overseeing timelines, deliverables, and quality control, will also be a key aspect of your role. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to contribute to competitions, bids, and research initiatives. To excel in this role, you should hold a Masters degree in Urban Design or Architecture with 10-15 years of relevant experience. Your proven experience in urban design for Indian or international contexts will be valuable, along with your high proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, and SketchUp. Experience with GIS software is considered a plus. Your ability to visualize design ideas clearly and compellingly, work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams, and engage in public realm projects will be advantageous.
