Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Quality Engineering Support

Assist Quality Engineers in the use and application of statistical tools within the workcell.
Support Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA) activities and ensure timely closures.
Conduct defect analysis and prepare structured defect reporting.
Support APQP activities and documentation requirements.

Production & Process Quality

Troubleshoot production issues and support resolution of defects on the line.
Ensure capability studies are completed on critical processes and dimensions.
Perform First Article Inspection (FAI); review and update inspection visual aids as required.
Guide Quality Technicians in creating accurate visual inspection aids.

Monitoring & Audits

Monitor process yields; calculate First Pass Yield (FPY) and identify yield loss trends.
Perform line audits, product audits, and participate in purges/MRB meetings.
Support data collection for SPC and ensure key dimension capability requirements are met.

Documentation & Compliance

Ensure all processes comply with deviation authorization requirements.
Maintain effective communication across shifts regarding inspection instructions, schedules, and quality issues.
Follow all safety, health, and security policies and ensure workplace compliance.

Additional Tasks

Participate in technical evaluations, experiments, and process improvement studies.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor/Quality Engineer.

Required Skills & Knowledge

Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing processes (SMT, PCBA, Box Build preferred).
Ability to define problems, collect data, analyze results, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to read and understand visual aids, drawings, SOPs, and inspection standards.
Good communication skills to interact with production teams, engineers, and management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and exposure to quality-related software tools.
Basic understanding of SPC, capability studies, and quality tools (5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto).
Ability to follow detailed instructions and work in a fast-paced production environment.
