The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching to postgraduate (PG) and undergraduate (UG) students, conducting cutting-edge research, and contributing to the academic and administrative functions of the university.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Academic Duties

• Develop and deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and laboratory sessions in Pharmaceutical Chemistry for PG (M.Pharm) and UG (B.Pharm) students.
• Design, update, and implement curriculum and course materials in alignment with regulatory standards (e.g., PCI, AICTE, and university guidelines).
• Supervise and mentor students in research projects, dissertations, and practical training.
• Assess and evaluate student performance through examinations, assignments, and other assessment methods.
• Foster an inclusive and interactive learning environment to promote critical thinking and practical application of pharmaceutical chemistry concepts.

Research and Scholarly Activities

• Conduct innovative research in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, with a focus on areas such as drug design, synthesis, analysis, and molecular modeling.
• Publish research findings in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
• Secure research grants and collaborate with industry and academic partners to advance research initiatives.
• Guide PG and Ph.D. students in their research endeavors, fostering a culture of scientific inquiry.

Administrative and Professional Contributions

• Participate in departmental and university committees, contributing to academic policy development, accreditation processes, and program reviews.
• Organize workshops, seminars, and guest lectures to enhance the academic reputation of the department.
• Engage in community outreach and industry collaborations to bridge academia and pharmaceutical practice.
• Stay updated with advancements in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and integrate them into teaching and research.

Qualifications and Experience

• Educational Qualification

  :
• Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry or a closely related field from a recognized university.
• Masters degree (M.Pharm) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry with a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent CGPA).

• Experience

  :
• Minimum of 8 years of teaching and/or research experience in an academic or research institution, with at least 3 years at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent.
• A strong record of publications in peer-reviewed journals (minimum of 7 publications in SCI/Scopus-indexed journals is desirable).
• Experience in guiding research at the postgraduate or doctoral level is preferred.

• Skills and Competencies

• Expertise in areas such as organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, drug synthesis, and analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, NMR, Mass Spectrometry).
• Proficiency in modern teaching methodologies and the use of digital tools for education.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary academic environment.

Desirable Attributes

• Prior experience in curriculum development and accreditation processes (e.g., PCI, NAAC).
• Demonstrated ability to secure research funding or industry collaborations.
• Knowledge of computational chemistry tools and software (e.g., ChemDraw, AutoDock).
• Active membership in professional bodies such as the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) or similar organizations.
