Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Associate Lab Technologist to join our team in the Cytogenetics & T-SPOT department. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 2 years of experience in a cytogenetics lab, with a strong background in life science, preferably in biomedical genetics or related fields.

Roles and Responsibility

Handle postnatal samples, including blood culture, harvest, and slide preparation.
Perform metaphase counting and karyotype analysis for blood samples.
Conduct prenatal sample handling, such as dissection of CVS for culture and trypsinization.
Prepare slides and capture images for prenatal samples.
Update and maintain logs on daily basis.
Assist senior colleagues in calibration documentation and SOP revisions.
Receive samples for T-SPOT.TB tests and perform demographics checks.
Execute T-SPOT.TB test workflows post-training and analyze results.
Manage other sections of work when colleagues are unavailable.
Participate in discussions about new tests and present views and suggestions for new tests and process improvements.

Job Requirements

Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Life Science, preferably in Biomedical Genetics, Zoology, Medical Genetics, Applied Genetics, or Human Genetics.
At least 1 year of experience in a cytogenetics lab, with flexibility to work on Sundays and holidays as required.
Strong knowledge of cytogenetics and molecular biology techniques.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in a Cytogenetic laboratory is preferred.
Flexibility to work on Sundays/Holidays as required.
Competency Required: Strategic Perspective, Ensure proper process flow and TAT for different tests to remain competitive in the lab service business, Market Focus: Ensures quality is maintained at high standards, Takes initiative to increase personal effectiveness and performance, Change Management: Participate in discussions pertaining to new tests, Present views and suggestions for new tests and process improvement of existing tests.
