Associate III - Trade Operations - Securities and Repo

The role of Trade Operations Securities and Repo involves ensuring all assigned tasks and transactions are completed on time, with the responsibility to follow up or escalate when necessary. As a subject matter expert, you will support junior team members by answering queries and organizing daily responsibilities efficiently. Investigating and resolving issues related to stock or cash mismatches is crucial, with the expectation to escalate high-risk discrepancies as per escalation policies. It is important to take ownership of additional tasks or projects, responding to internal and external queries in a clear, professional, and timely manner. Adherence to internal policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines is essential to minimize operational risk. Contributing to process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce cost, or elevate service quality is a key part of the role. Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal departments, portfolio managers, dealers, and external partners is necessary for successful collaboration. Keeping procedural documentation up to date and escalating any gaps or concerns to senior management is also part of the responsibilities. The ideal candidate will proactively seek to expand understanding of transaction processes and market operations while continuously identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency. Strong organizational skills, adaptability to changing priorities, and the ability to exercise sound judgment in routine decisions are valued qualities. Meeting deadlines consistently through effective time management and taking initiative and ownership of responsibilities are crucial for success in this role. Understanding operational and market risks, possessing solid end-to-end knowledge of asset management processes, and acting as a mentor to junior colleagues are important aspects of the position. Proficiency in using Aladdin, CTM, CLS, and SWIFT systems is a must, along with a strong understanding of global financial markets and experience with derivatives and collateral management processes. Familiarity with SWIFT messaging protocols, corporate actions, income processing, and risks inherent in the transaction and asset servicing lifecycle are also essential. Experience working with OTC derivatives and other OTC products is a nice-to-have, along with a strong attention to detail, proactive work ethic, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel for operational analysis and reporting.
