Associate - Electrical

As an Associate Director/Associate/Principal Engineer-Electrical at WSP, your role involves working with the ME team to expand the energy team by leveraging your expertise in the Electrical domain. You will be responsible for projects related to Power, Water, Renewables, and Transmission & Distribution. Your key responsibilities will include: - Having knowledge in both primary & secondary detailed engineering of EHV substations and being a subject matter expert in at least one of them. - Creating conceptual engineering drawings & designs for Extra High Voltage (EHV) projects, covering AIS and GIS substations ranging from 11kV up to 400kV. - Performing design review for electrical deliverables related to power, water, renewables, and T&D projects while acting as a lead and directly interfacing with clients. - Operating as part of a team in carrying out electrical design review and basic engineering works, providing necessary technical inputs to designers and ensuring compliance with tender specifications and design basis. - Expertise in basic design/review of electrical substation facilities including various diagrams, layouts, and specifications. - Preparation of project specifications for material and equipment purchase and installation. - Delivery of accurate designs meeting industry standards, specifications, and good engineering practices. - Reviewing designs for code compliance, good design practice, and constructability. - Resolving site queries during the construction phase of projects. - Maintaining complete project documentation with respect to substation design and construction. - Providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members. Qualifications required for this role include: - Graduate or Post Graduate Degree in Electrical engineering. - Experience in Power, Water, and Renewable projects is preferred. - Familiarity with software tools like Auto CAD, ETAP, PSS/E, ASPEN. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Demonstrated leadership skills.
