Associate Consultant / Sr. Associate Consultant (Pediatric Surgery)

As a member of the Medical Staff Department in Mumbai, you are expected to demonstrate a professional approach towards all patients, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities include providing medical cover, both routine and emergency, collaborating with other specialties within the institute. It is essential to adhere to clinical safety, hygiene, and infection control protocols at all times. You must be available to see patients promptly, identify complex health issues, and report them to the relevant doctor without delay. Supervising the daily clinical management of patients, in coordination with PG students and nurse team leaders under the guidance of Consultants, is also part of your role. Additionally, you should be able to prescribe pain management medications when necessary and maintain effective communication with patients, their families, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals. In terms of documentation, all treatment orders are to be written in capital letters, and each treatment sheet should be properly dated, named, and signed by the attending doctor. It is crucial to refer to progress notes while updating treatment sheets. You will be expected to assist Consultants during rounds, including independent rounds, and follow up with patients for further care as needed. Your duties will also involve assisting in the Operation Theatre, providing pre and post-operative care to patients, and adhering to on-call and duty rota schedules based on departmental requirements. Moreover, you are encouraged to actively participate in the Quality Improvement Initiative and organizational protocols to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.,
