Job Description

As an Associate Analyst at Mastercard's Economics Institute, you will be a part of a dynamic team driving economic thought leadership to support the creation of a more inclusive and sustainable digital economy. Since its launch in 2020, the Economics Institute has been focused on analyzing economic trends with a consumer-centric approach to provide tailored insights on economic issues for various stakeholders. In this role, your primary responsibilities will include creating clear and impactful data visualizations that effectively convey economic insights to diverse audiences. You will also be developing reusable R functions and packages to facilitate analysis and automation processes. Additionally, you will be tasked with generating and formatting analytical content using R Markdown and/or Quarto, as well as designing and building scalable Shiny apps for interactive data visualization. To excel in this position, you should excel in R programming and be proficient in utilizing RStudio IDE. Your expertise in R packages such as dplyr for data cleaning, transformation, and aggregation will be essential. Moreover, you should have a solid understanding of dependency management and documentation in R, including tools like roxygen2. Familiarity with version control concepts and collaborative development tools like Git, GitHub, and Bitbucket will be advantageous for this role. Furthermore, your experience in writing SQL and working with relational databases will be beneficial. A creative and passionate approach to data, coding, and technology, coupled with strong collaboration skills and the ability to work independently, will be key attributes for success in this role. Additionally, you should be well-organized, capable of prioritizing work across multiple projects, and comfortable collaborating with various stakeholders including engineers, product owners, data scientists, and economists.,
