As Assistant Sales Manager, Marine India, you’ll be a key contributor to growing DESMI’s marine sales and business development in India. Your role mainly revolves around:

• Sales & Business Development: Generate new enquiries, develop sales opportunities, negotiate commercial terms, and convert opportunities into orders.
• Customer Relationship Management: Manage and grow key accounts including shipowners, ship-management companies, shipyards, OEMs, consultants, designers, agents, and marine traders.
• New Account Acquisition: Identify prospective customers, establish new business relationships, and expand market presence across India.
• Project & Tender Sales: Track newbuilding, retrofit, repair, and replacement projects; coordinate technical-commercial offers, tenders, and follow-ups to secure orders.
• Revenue & Orderbook Growth: Achieve assigned targets for order intake, invoicing, and orderbook, while maintaining healthy margins and timely order execution.
• Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activities, customer requirements, upcoming projects, and market trends to identify growth opportunities.
• Internal Coordination: Collaborate closely with technical, service, operations, and finance teams to ensure customer satisfaction and successful order conversion.
• Sales Tools: Hands-on experience with Salesforce and quotation tools such as QPM and Infor.

As a member of our marine sales team, we are looking for a technically skilled and commercially focused Assistant Sales Manager who is self-driven and has a deep understanding of marine equipment sales, especially pumps and related systems.

We also imagine that you:

• Possess a strong technical background with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics.
• Have 5 to 7 years of proven experience in technical sales or sales management within marine equipment, pumps, or rotating equipment sectors.
• Have excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to motivate clients and close sales.
• Are willing to travel regularly across India to engage directly with customers.
• Have existing relationships with shipowners, ship managers, shipyards, OEMs, consultants, designers, agents, or marine traders, which will be a strong advantage.
