Job Title: Assistant Professor – EnglishDepartment: Department of English / HumanitiesReports To: Head of the Department / PrincipalJob Summary:

The Assistant Professor in English will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in English language and literature, developing academic content, conducting research, and contributing to the overall academic excellence of the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching & Learning:
• Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures and tutorials in English language, literature, and communication skills.
• Develop and update course materials, lesson plans, and assessment methods in line with curriculum requirements.
• Evaluate and grade students’ classwork, assignments, and examinations.
• Academic & Research Activities:
• Engage in research, publications, and academic projects in the field of English and related disciplines.
• Participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences to enhance professional knowledge.
• Guide students in academic projects, dissertations, and presentations.
• Student Mentorship:
• Provide academic and career guidance to students.
• Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Administrative Duties:
• Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum design, and institutional activities.
• Assist in organizing academic events such as guest lectures, debates, and literary festivals.
• Support the institution’s goals and policies through active participation in committees and initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Education: Master’s Degree in English / English Literature from a recognized university.
• Desirable: NET / SLET / Ph.D. as per UGC norms.
• Experience: 0–3 years (freshers with strong academic background may also apply).

Skills Required:

• Strong command over English language (spoken and written).
• Excellent teaching, communication, and presentation skills.
• Research and analytical ability.
• Proficiency in academic writing and use of technology in teaching.
• Team-oriented and student-centered approach.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
