Job Summary

The Assistant Manager Incoming & Supplier Quality oversees the incoming inspection process for parts and materials used in industrial fabrication and heavy machinery manufacturing. This role ensures compliance with internal standards, ISO/industry regulations, and elevates supplier quality via systematic control and continuous improvement.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Incoming Inspection & Material Control

• Establish and maintain procedures for receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming materials per specs.
• Use calibrated tools (Micrometer, gauges, CMM) to inspect materials.
• Maintain inspection logs, traceability, and KPIs like PPM and defect rates

• Supplier Quality Management

• Engage with suppliers for non-conformances, corrective actions (CAPA).
• Audit suppliers, evaluate trends, and rate their quality performance.

• Root-Cause Analysis & Continuous Improvement

• Analyse inspection data: 5-Why, 8D, FMEA techniques.
• Lead initiatives to reduce defects in collaboration with engineering and production.

• Industrial Fabrication & Machinery Expertise

• Deep Possess knowledge of Sheet Metal / Heavy Fabrication and Machining.
• Oversee welding processes (MIG, TIG) and forming/forging operations.
• Strong understanding of materials (carbon steel, stainless, aluminium, alloys).

• Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure QMS adherence (ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO14001).
• Proven experience managing supplier and incoming quality processes
• Knowledge in New product introductions (NPIs), tool trials, and validation processes.
• Skilled in inspection tools, drawing reading, and QC techniques (SPC, statistical sampling)
