Assistant Judo Coach

Qualification: Graduation, Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. Exercise Science

Certifications (any one or more):
Certified by Judo Federation of India (JFI), state association, or equivalent grassroots certification.

Sports Achievement: Former professional, national, or state-level Player is highly preferred.

Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of coaching experience or active participation at district/state-level Judo. Experience working with children or youth programs is desirable.

• Assist in planning and delivering daily Judo sessions for students aged 6–16 years (grassroots level).
• Teach basic techniques (falls, holds, throws, and grips) with a focus on correct form and safety.
• Support in conducting physical conditioning and warm-up/cool-down routines.
• Help identify students with potential for competitive pathways and recommend them for advanced training.
• Assist in organizing internal belt gradings, judo festivals, and mini-competitions.
• Maintain discipline, safety, and motivation during practice.
• Foster interest in Judo by making sessions age-appropriate and engaging.
• Monitor individual attendance, attitude, and basic progress.
• Maintain basic records (batch lists, attendance, feedback logs, marks list for Credit courses).
• Assist in setup and maintenance of mats, training area, and judo gear.
• Support event preparations for inter-school and intra-academy activities.
• Coordinate with PE teachers and coordinators at Somaiya schools, colleges and other institutes.
• Communicate student progress and participation to school staff and parents as needed.
