Assistant General Manager- Project Development

Role & responsibilities

Identify and evaluate potential wind, solar, and hybrid project sites across multiple states, based on resource potential, grid accessibility, land feasibility, environmental and other constraints.

• Conduct pre-feasibility and resource assessments using wind/solar data, land topography, and transmission studies.
• Develop land acquisition and site-selection strategies, optimizing land footprint, land utilizations through lease, purchase, or aerial-right models.

Grid Connectivity & Transmission Coordination

• Analyze CTU/STU grid expansion plans, evacuation capacity, and transmission cost structures to identify low-cost and reliable connectivity options.
• Engage with central and state utilities to secure connectivity and approvals, ensuring alignment with project timelines.

Project Land Acquisition & Due Diligence

• Oversee end-to-end land acquisition and title due diligence processes for both private and government lands.
• Coordinate with legal, survey, and liaison teams to secure clear titles, mutation, and conversion (CLU) approvals.
• Interface with local authorities, revenue departments, and aggregators to create a compliant and risk-mitigated land pool for upcoming projects.

Permits, Approvals & Regulatory permission

• Obtain and manage statutory approvals, including AAI, MoD, MoEFCC, Forest, Pollution Control Board, CEIG, and state energy departments.
• Coordinate with MNRE, CERC/SERCs, PGCIL, GRID-India, CTU/STU for timely regulatory clearances and grid connectivity for the projects.
• Facilitate compliance submissions, claims, and documentation for Central and state government agencies.

Commercial & Contractual Support

• Lead and Support land contract negotiations, ensuring regulatory and commercial compliance.

Review and vet development contracts, MoUs, and NDAs to safeguard organizational interests
