Assistant Engineer - Highways

As an Assistant Engineer at the UK iCRC Highway team located in Noida/Bengaluru, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with our UK discipline on a variety of projects. Your primary responsibility will involve contributing to the development and delivery of highway schemes at different design stages, ranging from feasibility to planning, detailed design, and construction. Working in a team environment, you will work closely with the lead design engineer or work package manager to create design solutions that comply with relevant standards. Your proactive involvement in the design process is crucial, as you will be actively engaged in multiple projects simultaneously. Utilizing tools like AutoCAD and other design software, you will play a key role in producing and refining designs and drawings. Additionally, adherence to health and safety policies and procedures is imperative to ensure a safe working environment. In terms of mandatory skills, you are expected to possess a solid understanding of relevant design standards and be proficient in utilizing design software such as Civil 3D, Open Roads, MX, PDS/Key Line and Sign, AutoCAD, and ProjectWise. Your ability to effectively communicate, seek clarification when needed, and collaborate with the UK project team is essential for project delivery. You should also exhibit adaptability and innovative thinking to address challenges creatively. Good written and verbal communication skills are paramount for effective project coordination. Desirable skills for this role include a working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW), along with the capability to assist in the production of technical specifications and reports. To qualify for this position, you should hold a bachelor's or post-graduate degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, accompanied by 2-4 years of post-graduate experience in highway design.
