Role Overview: You will be working as a full-time Assistant Editor: English at Viva Books Private Limited. Your role will involve copyediting, proofreading, and fact-checking manuscripts in various subject areas. It is essential to have a keen eye for detail and a passion for maintaining grammatical accuracy and adherence to style guidelines. This position is based in New Delhi. Key Responsibilities: - Edit and proofread manuscripts to ensure they are well-written, grammatically correct, and adhere to style guidelines - Fact-check information provided in the manuscripts - Work on manuscripts across different subject areas - Maintain consistency in language, grammar, and style throughout the manuscripts Qualifications Required: - Must have a Master's degree in English or linguistics - Desirable to have 1-3 years of experience in copyediting, proofreading, or fact-checking - Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling - Ability to adhere to style guidelines and ensure consistency - Proficiency in using Microsoft Word - Strong multitasking and prioritization skills - Capable of working under tight deadlines - Excellent organizational and communication skills (Note: As an entry-level editorial role, applications are accepted only from candidates meeting the eligibility criterion of a Master's degree in English or linguistics.
