Assistant Director, Risk Modeling and Monitoring

As an Assistant Director, Risk Modeling and Monitoring at HSBC, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing data science applications for higher business value. Your responsibilities will include: - Having a fundamental understanding of ML models such as Boosting, Random Forests, Deep Learning, Anomaly Detection, and Unstructured Data Analysis, as well as major Statistical algorithms used in Credit Scoring and Strategy. - Partnering with functional business leaders to create data science applications that can be deployed across regions and markets. - Translating key analytical solutions into generic and re-deployable strategies. - Assessing the relationship between recommended solutions and business performance to see the bigger picture. - Delivering high-quality data science solutions to business stakeholders globally. - Functionally overseeing a cross-functional team of consultants in an Agile working environment for the development and implementation of data science-led applications and services. To be successful in this role, you should have: - 10+ years of experience using statistical concepts and machine learning models to solve complex business problems. - A PH.D or Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics/Econometrics, or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields of study. - Fundamental experience in major algorithms widely used in credit scoring and credit strategy. - Strong developer skills in Python and R, with deeper expertise in at least one language. - Experience in developing data science applications using open source libraries. - Collaboration with partners across business groups to evaluate emerging techniques for enhancing data science capabilities. - A strong foundation in retail credit risk management and stakeholder management skills for seamless delivery of data science initiatives.
