We at Assist World are seeking an experienced Controller-Level Virtual Accountant on behalf of a client to oversee daily accounting operations and support financial leadership. This role is designed to streamline the accounting function so that the existing Controller can focus on strategic projects and system integrations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organised and capable of delivering accurate, timely financial insights to drive business performance. Key Responsibilities Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Perform budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Ensure compliance with GAAP and other accounting regulations Support financial audits and liaise with external auditors Implement process improvements and system integrations in collaboration with leadership Provide accurate financial reporting to management for decision-making Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred) 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience , with controller or senior accountant exposure Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or similar) Prior experience in logistics, trucking, or supply chain is an advantage Excellent written and spoken English communication skills High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work independently Strong organizational and deadline management skills
