ASP.NET Developer

You will be responsible for building and maintaining application functionality for both new and existing systems using the .Net toolset with a SQL Server back end. Your role will involve developing, maintaining, and enhancing web applications utilizing ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, and .NET Core frameworks. Additionally, you will integrate web applications with external systems and services through Web services, REST APIs, XML, and JSON parsing. It is crucial for you to participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, documentation, and deployment. Collaboration with business systems analysts and project managers to plan and deliver results within tight deadlines is a key aspect of the role. You should possess the ability to independently take an idea from inception through construction, launch into production, and provide ongoing support and enhancements. Maintaining a high standard of quality for code, documentation, and other deliverables is essential, including the ability to write unit test code and familiarity with mock/fake object testing. Adherence to industry best practices, contribution to internal coding standards, and providing estimates for assigned development tasks are also expected. As part of your responsibilities, you will need to learn and evaluate new technologies and tools as required, along with participating in peer code reviews. In terms of skills and requirements, you should be proficient in utilizing established development tools, guidelines, and conventions such as ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, SQL Server, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and C#. Exposure to MVC Framework is desired, along with knowledge of web services, REST APIs, XML, and JSON parsing. Familiarity with Microsoft Reports for reporting and data visualization is a plus. You will be enhancing existing systems by analyzing business objectives, preparing action plans, and identifying areas for modification and improvement. Experience with version control tools like SVN, GIT, GitHub, Gitlab, and Azure Repos is beneficial. Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive attitude towards troubleshooting and issue resolution, excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to investigate and develop skills in new technologies are essential. Strong technical knowledge, the creation of technical specifications, and a degree in Computer Science or related field are required.
