ARC Support Engineer - L3

The position includes weekend and pager rotation coverage and involves mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Issue Management:

  Lead troubleshooting of hardware and software issues, isolate product problems, replicate customer environments, and provide final resolutions. Act as a customer advocate by understanding network environments and business impact.

• Technical Support & Guidance:

  Provide expertise during testing, deployment, and operational phases. Participate in knowledge base creation, documentation, and new product development projects.

• Mentorship:

  Mentor newly hired engineers and peers in technical areas of specialty. Ensure support teams are trained on customer network configurations and operational practices.

• Network Analysis & Optimization:

  Gain in-depth knowledge of customer network topology, configurations, features, and service history for faster issue resolution. Conduct proactive analysis to optimize network performance.

• Tools & Lab Environment:

  Set up lab environments to replicate customer issues and validate solutions. Work with traffic generators like Ixia or Agilent to simulate network scenarios.

• Process & Documentation:

  Create and maintain Method of Procedure (MoP), defect reports, and technical documentation. Participate in internal initiatives to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.

Primary Skills Required:

• Layer 3: IP, ICMP, TCP, GRE, QoS, VRRP; Routing Protocols: BGP, OSPF, IS-IS
• Layer 2: Ethernet, VLAN (802.1q/p), BFD, STP, RSTP, ARP, LACP
• Multicast: IGMP, IGMP-snooping, PIM
• MPLS, L2/L3 VPN, Traffic Engineering, LDP, RSVP, Segment Routing, VPLS
• Advanced Multicast and Datacenter technologies: NG-MVPN, Draft Rosen, MC-LAG, VXLAN, EVPN
• Scripting: Perl, Python, Unix, Expect

Qualifications & Experience:

• B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
• Minimum 7 years of networking experience; candidates with 5+ years JUNOS experience preferred
• Certifications: JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent preferred
