Job Title: Mid-level IT & Systems Engineer Location: Mumbai, India Department: Technology Services Reports To: Technology Services Manager About the Role We are seeking a Mid-level IT & Systems Engineer to join our Technology Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and advancing our IT infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of owning initiatives from request to delivery. You will work closely with analysts, engineers, and support staff across cybersecurity, networking, IT, cloud, and site reliability engineering disciplines. This role requires strong hands-on technical skills in networking, system administration, virtualization, and IT operations , combined with the ability to apply agile frameworks and scrum practices to manage projects. You should be comfortable breaking down requests into epics, tasks, and story points with minimal guidance, while driving initiatives forward collaboratively. Key Responsibilities Systems & Infrastructure Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers across physical hardware, VMware ESXi, and cloud environments. Administer MDM platforms for both Windows laptops and MacBooks, ensuring compliance and security. Oversee patch management, configuration, and system monitoring. Networking Support and troubleshoot enterprise networks spanning multiple VLANs, managed switches, and wireless controllers. Maintain and optimize wireless access points for both employee and guest networks. Collaborate with cybersecurity and operations teams to ensure secure, reliable connectivity. IT Operations Provide Tier 2/3 support for the IT helpdesk, ensuring SLA targets are consistently met. Automate and streamline IT processes where possible to improve efficiency. Document system configurations, processes, and procedures. Project & Agile Practices Take ownership of new project requests, creating detailed epics, tasks, and story points in alignment with agile methodology. Work independently with little to no guidance to plan, prioritize, and deliver on technical projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions on time and within scope. Qualifications 3–5 years of experience in IT systems engineering, system administration, or related roles. Strong background in networking (VLANs, switches, wireless controllers, access points). Experience with virtualization (VMware ESXi) and cloud-based servers. Proficiency in Windows and Linux server administration. Familiarity with MDM solutions for both Windows and Mac endpoints. Working knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience in project/task breakdown . Ability to work independently, with strong problem-solving and initiative-taking skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams. This role requires fluency in English . Preferred Skills Experience with site reliability engineering practices and/or DevOps tools. Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks or IT compliance requirements. Scripting or automation experience (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python). Prior experience supporting a Cyber Defense Operations Center (CDOC) or SOC environment.
