Company Description Applied Environmental Research Foundation (AERF) is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) focused on demonstrating the conservation of biological diversity through the active participation of local communities combined with research techniques. Since 1994, AERF has aimed to link conservation research with sustainable development practices to support ecosystem development and poverty alleviation. Notable projects include a World Bank-funded bio-fuel program in Maharashtra. Recognized internationally, AERF's work on sacred groves has been influential, with its director receiving the Associate Award from the Whitely Foundation for Nature. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a financial assistant , located in Pune. The Financial assistant will be responsible for preparing detailed transaction reports for the projects implemented by the organization,, He/she will need to handle among others following tasks. Bookkeeping & Data Entry Record day-to-day financial transactions. Maintain ledgers and journals (cash, bank, purchase,expenses etc.). Ensure accuracy in entries using accounting software (Tally). Voucher & Invoice Management Prepare and verify bills, receipts, payment vouchers. Match purchase orders with invoices. Bank Reconciliation Regularly reconcile bank statements with internal records. Liaise with banks for fund transfers, statements, and documentation. Assist in Reporting Help prepare monthly/quarterly reports for management and donors. Support in drafting utilization reports and fund status summaries. Document Management Maintain hard/soft copies of bills, receipts, grant-related documents. Support in audits by ensuring availability of relevant documents. Compliance Support Assist in GST/TDS filings if applicable. Help in ensuring donor and FCRA compliance Petty Cash Handling Monitor petty cash expenses and replenish funds as required. Payroll Support ( if include HR in Account) Process monthly salaries, statutory deductions, and maintain employee records. Understanding of: Donor reporting, fund accounting, project-wise accounting. Qualifications Minimum qualification of the applicant should be a Masters' Degree in commerce with an experience of 2 years in non-profit finance management. Compensation offered- Depending on qualification and experience, the monthly compensation for this position will range between INR 35,000 to INR 45,000

The selected candidates will be responsible for various tasks as part of their role, requiring excellent command over the English language. The responsibilities of this position include: - Conducting field research such as biodiversity surveys, resource assessments, wildlife surveys, and ecological data collection. - Analyzing data and preparing technical reports. - Monitoring biodiversity and developing related indicators. - Estimating biomass and carbon stock. The monthly compensation for this position is in the range of INR 30,000 to 45,000, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
