Summary:As an Application Support Engineer, you will act as software detectives, providing a dynamic service that identifies and resolves issues within multiple components of critical business systems. Your typical day will involve collaborating with various teams to troubleshoot and enhance system performance, ensuring that all applications run smoothly and efficiently while maintaining high standards of service delivery.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain IBM MQ infrastructure. Plan, test, and implement MQ version updates as well as patching activities in the underlying operating systems. Candidate should have Primary Skill as IBM MQ Administrator and Secondary Skills like WebSphere, WebLogic Apache, Tomcat and JBOSS including installation, configuration, security, and monitoring is preferable.Introduce automation where possible to improve team's efficiency (i.e., Patching automation, self-provisioning of MQ objects, etc.) Design, implement and document each application/customer deployments. Participate in an on-call rotation, performing troubleshooting activities and implementing necessary fixes to restore stability.
Professional & Technical Skills:
Minimum of 4 - 5 years of experience in IBM WebSphere MQ and IBM WebSphere Application administrationMinimum 1 – 3 years of experience in either of these technologies:Oracle WebLogic, Apache, Tomcat, IIS, Biztalk, MuleSoft, Liferay Portal, Oracle Fusion, MQ Series etc.1 - 3 years of Operating System / knowledge of system commands and structuresExperience with prioritizing work requestsExpert level knowledge in design, installation, configuration, fix pack upgrade, and administration of IBM MQ Expert level knowledge in deploying and configuring MQ.Good knowledge of Windows and Linux Red hat operating system. SSL certificate management experience Problem solving / analytical skills, tools, and techniques with experience in troubleshooting MQ issues as well as other complex MQ performance issues. Strong communication skills.Knowledge on installing, configuring, and maintaining Omegamon agents.Basic knowledge of RedHat/Windows administration, including shell scripting, Batch processing and task scheduler management.Experience with AWS Platform (preferable AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or better) Experience working or integrating with Active MQ, FTP and WebSphere Application server.Understanding of ITIL and ITSM frameworks.Experience with change management processes and tools (preferably ServiceNow) Ability to work, learn new applications, and resolve issues quickly. Ability to clearly document and explain symptoms and solutions to complex problems. Good verbal and written communication skills to connect with customers at varying levels of the organization.Ability to operate independently and make decisions with little direct supervision
Additional Information:Strong written & oral communication skills.Should be open to work in shifts.Higher Level Qualification in a technical subject is desirable.Associate or bachelor's degree in a technical area
