Role: Application and Systems Support Engineers

Location: Hyderabad, Begumpet - India

Roles and Responsibilities

As part of the Application and Systems Support Engineering Team, the responsibilities include day-today

monitoring and smooth running of all iBasis applications. In the event of any failure ability to

follow the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) to resolve and recover the situation. In the event, the

issue is false outside the SOP, ability to analyze and correlate the underlying components and the

ability to identify the root cause. If needed escalate the issue to the next higher level SME (Subject

Matter Expert). The responsibility also includes providing support to issues/requests raised by iBasis

internal business users.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge in UNIX/Linux/Windows Operating Systems
• Experience in Software development
• Knowledge in DevOps and AWS.
• Extensive experience in Installation, Administration, Patching, Upgrades.
• Experienced in shell scripting using bash, Ruby and python to automate some of the repetitive

tasks.

• Ability to grasp and provide internal support for tools like SAP Business Objects, JIRA,
• Experience in working with different monitoring tools.
• Expertise in the creation of start-up and shutdown scripts, crontabs, files system maintenance

and backup scripting and automation.

• Provided production support in an on-call rotation in a 24x7 environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the drive to complete tasks effectively, and efficiently where

customer service and technical skills are demanded.

• Expertise or in-depth knowledge in LDAP, NIS, NIS+, NFS, DHCP, SAMBA, HTTP, FTP, SSH, DNS

etc.

• Excellent hands on experience in creating, updating and closing tickets.
• Strong analytical capability in troubleshooting and debugging skills that involve deep

understanding of software, hardware, firmware and network layers/components

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering or related IT experience in operations and DevOps.
• Experience with Unix/Linux, SQL experience in MySQL, Postgres, Oracle.
• Solid understanding of IP network and TCP/IP
• 5+ years work experience in IT/IS
• Good interpersonal skills and communication written and oral.
