API / Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer at HSBC, you will be responsible for developing world-class high-quality Restful APIs in Springboot and Kong. Your key responsibilities will include owning API delivery end-to-end, understanding API consumer requirements, guiding consumers on best consumption practices, and deploying APIs onto on-prem/Cloud platforms without disrupting existing API consumers. You will collaborate with consumers and backend teams, implement the latest Engineering standards, and drive continuous improvement in the API life cycle through automation and learning. Additionally, you will perform peer reviews, guide junior team members, and analyze technical issues to provide effective solutions. Qualifications Required: - Experience in JAVA, J2EE, and Spring Boot APIs - Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities - Self-motivated with the ability to work independently - 1-5 years of experience in the IT industry (desirable) - Experience in API Security & Swagger OAS (desirable) - Experience in Docker & Kubernetes (desirable) - Familiarity with tools like Git, Maven, Jenkins, Splunk, AppDynamics (desirable) - Strong communication skills (desirable) - Basic knowledge of Agile (scrum methodologies) and JIRA (desirable) - Knowledge of any cloud technologies (AWS/GCP/Azure) (desirable) Join HSBC to be part of a culture where all employees are valued, respected, and their opinions count.
