Job Description

Job Summary

API Integration Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Develop, test, and deploy
RESTful APIs
to connect PLCs, DWS, and ASRS systems with backend servers and customer WMS.
Integrate automation data via
Modbus TCP
,
MQTT
, or
OPC-UA
protocols.
Design efficient data schemas and manage
MongoDB
databases for machine logs, alarms, and history.
Implement secure authentication using
JWT / OAuth2
and handle real-time API communication.
Collaborate with mechanical and PLC engineers to map real signals and I/O data structures.
Create and maintain API documentation using
Swagger
or
Postman
.
Monitor and optimize system performance, latency, and reliability.
Deploy and maintain APIs on
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
or Docker-based environments.

Required Technical Skills

Strong hands-on experience with
Node.js
,
Express.js
, and
MongoDB
Proficient in
REST API design
, JSON, and asynchronous data handling
Experience with
industrial communication protocols
Modbus TCP, MQTT, OPC-UA
Knowledge of
JWT / OAuth2
, HTTPS security, and rate limiting
API testing tools –
Postman, Swagger, Jest/Mocha
Experience with
Grafana
,
Docker
, or
Node-RED
is an added advantage

Preferred Qualifications

B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science, Mechatronics, or Electronics
Prior experience integrating
automation machines with backend or WMS systems
Familiarity with PLCs (Siemens / Allen-Bradley) and industrial networking
Exposure to
cloud platforms (GCP / AWS)
and
DevOps pipelines
