Capgemini is hiring for API Developer role

Experience range- 4 to 8 years

Location: Pan India

Work mode: Hybrid

Job Summary:

API Developer

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define API requirements.
Ensure API performance, scalability, and security.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth2, JWT).
Monitor and troubleshoot API issues and performance bottlenecks.
Maintain version control and ensure backward compatibility.
Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in API development using languages such as Node.js & Python only.
Strong understanding of
RESTful principles
and/or
GraphQL
.
Experience with
API documentation tools
(e.g., Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman).
Familiarity with
API gateways
,
rate limiting
, and
caching strategies
.
Knowledge of
database systems
(SQL and NoSQL).
Experience with
CI/CD pipelines
and
version control systems
(e.g., Git).
Understanding of
security best practices
in API development.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with
cloud platforms
(AWS, Azure, GCP).
Familiarity with
microservices architecture
.
Knowledge of
containerization
(Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with
message brokers
(e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).

Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
