Job Description: API Developer (Containerization & Microservices) Role Summary: We are seeking an experienced API Developer with strong expertise in designing, developing, and deploying APIs in containerized environments. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of OpenAPI specification, API testing, lifecycle management, and security best practices. Proficiency in Java and/or Python, along with experience deploying applications in AWS or other cloud platforms, is essential. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and document RESTful APIs adhering to OpenAPI specifications. Implement robust API testing strategies, ensuring thorough validation of functionality and security. Apply API security standards, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure coding practices. Manage the complete API lifecycle from design and development through deployment and monitoring. Develop and maintain microservices and event-driven architectures to ensure scalable and resilient solutions. Containerize applications using Docker/Kubernetes to enable continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD). Deploy, monitor, and maintain API-driven solutions on AWS infrastructure. Required Skills: Strong experience in designing and documenting APIs using OpenAPI (Swagger) specifications. Solid understanding of API security mechanisms and best practices (OAuth, JWT, API gateways, etc.). Demonstrated expertise with microservices and event-driven architecture design principles. Proficiency in Java and/or Python for developing scalable API-driven solutions. Extensive experience deploying and managing APIs on AWS (knowledge of Azure or GCP is also beneficial). Preferred (Good to Have) Skills: Experience with big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Apache Spark, AWS Athena, or Apache Hive. Familiarity with SQL scripting and understanding of data warehouse concepts. Knowledge of streaming platforms like Apache Kafka for real-time data processing. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). 7+ years of experience in software development focusing on API and microservices architecture. Excellent communication, analytical skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
