Key Responsibilities Training Needs Assessment & Strategy Conduct periodic skills gap analysis across departments: production, maintenance, quality, safety, engineering, etc. Understand business goals and technology/ process changes; translate into training requirements. Develop a medium- to long-term technical training strategy aligned with organizational goals. Program Design & Development Design curricula for different levels: operator, technician, supervisor, engineer. Include modules on new equipment/technology, process improvements, safety & compliance, quality systems, preventive and predictive maintenance. Develop training materials: manuals, SOPs, e-learning modules, handson labs, simulation, onthejob training (OJT). Training Delivery and Execution Oversee / conduct training sessions, workshops, practical demonstrations. Manage internal trainers / technical experts, and external vendors if needed. Ensure training schedule is planned to minimize disruption to production. Evaluation & Continuous Improvement Define KPIs/metrics for training effectiveness: for example, improvements in quality, reduction in downtime, error rates, productivity, safety incidents. Collect feedback from trainees and stakeholders; use this to refine content and methods. Maintain records of training outcomes, competencies, certifications. Budgeting & Resource Management Prepare / manage training budgets. Procure tools, equipment, software, external training services. Manage team of trainers/instructors, technical training staff. Compliance & Standards Ensure that training programs comply with regulatory, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Ensure certifications and licensing requirements where applicable. Change Management & Innovation Stay updated with industry best practices, new manufacturing technologies (automation, IoT, Industry 4.0), and training methodologies. Introduce modern training techniques (blended learning, virtual / augmented reality, e-learning) where applicable. Stakeholder Engagement Liaise with department heads (production, quality, engineering, maintenance) to align training with operational needs. Engage with external institutions, vendors, OEMs for technical inputs, specialized training.
