Calibration Engineer noida, uttar pradesh 3 - 7 years INR Not disclosed On-site Full Time

The main purpose of this role, based in Portchester, UK, is to effectively plan, coordinate, and execute calibration tasks within the Company, ensuring all gauges within SMR UK are calibrated in compliance with the requirements of IATF16949, following an agreed timing plan and budget. As the Process owner for Calibration during internal and external audits, you will be responsible for addressing any non-conformities that may arise and ensuring compliance with the calibration requirements of IATF16949. Collaborating with the Laboratory facilitator, you will plan and coordinate calibration activities using the database, maintaining all records meticulously and ensuring easy accessibility. Additionally, you will conduct Calibration supplier audits when necessary and manage the retrieval and delivery of gauges to and from gauge owners in coordination with the Laboratory facilitator. Moreover, you will perform the calibration of all shop floor screwdrivers, communicating with manufacturing to secure appropriate time on the equipment. You will undertake mechanical or electrical calibration on internal gauges with UKAS or ISO17025 accredited equipment and ensure all equipment on the database is calibrated to the respective national standards UKAS or ISO17025 and customer requirements. Writing and maintaining calibration procedures for internal calibration, managing disposition, and supporting the test and metrology department with measurement demands will also be key responsibilities. In addition, you will need to comply with the Health and Safety policy, ensuring personal safety and the safety of others. Reviewing calibration specifications for equipment with respect to product and process requirements, interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications, and performing regular gauge and product measurements are crucial aspects of this role. Furthermore, any other duties as requested by the Senior Metrology Engineer or Laboratory Manager should be carried out diligently. The ideal candidate for this role should be computer competent, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word). A strong understanding of Engineering principles, including Metrology and measurement techniques, is required, along with previous experience in instrumentation calibrations to ISO standards. Familiarity with PCDMIS or scanning software is desirable, as is prior experience in the Automotive sector. The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, knowledge of gauge calibration and basic product testing, hands-on calibration skills, and basic mechanical skills are essential requirements. Additionally, you should possess good attention to detail, the ability to work without supervision, and a flexible approach to working outside of normal shift hours as required.
