Role and Responsibilities:

1. Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features that impact Rupeeks business, with an emphasis on Mobile, Payments, Core Platform, and Analytics.
3. Work with outside data sources and APIs to integrate seamlessly with existing systems.
4. Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and roll out system changes that meet requirements for functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, and adherence to development goals and principles.
5. Conduct unit tests for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
6. Fix bugs and improve application performance.
7. Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
8. Assist directly and indirectly in the continual hiring process.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proven software development experience and Android skills development.
3. Proven working experience in Android app development and have published at least one original Android app.
4. Experience with Android SDK.
5. Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON.
6. Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
7. Strong object-oriented design and coding skills (Java and/or Kotlin).
8. Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills :

1. Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
2. Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
3. Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards.
4. Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines.
5. Familiarity with continuous integration.
6. Experience with Flutter & IOS is a plus.
