Android Application Developer

Responsibilities:

• Architect and develop high-performance Android applications for First Dues mission-critical emergency response platform.
• Design and implement offline-first mobile architectures to ensure reliability in low-connectivity emergency environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across US and India time zones.
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines, coding standards, and quality assurance processes for mobile development.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance, data privacy, and security for patient care reporting features.

Qualifications:

• 10 years of experience in native Android development using Kotlin or Java
• Proven experience building mission-critical, offline-capable mobile applications.
• Strong expertise in modern Android architecture patterns: MVVM, Repository Pattern, Clean Architecture.
• Advanced knowledge of API integration and data synchronization strategies.
• Experience with emergency services, healthcare, or field operations software is a strong plus.
• Excellent debugging, performance optimization, and memory management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership in establishing mobile development standards and best practices.

Technical expertise:

• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java.
• In-depth knowledge of Android SDK and Jetpack components:
  Compose, Navigation, Coroutines, StateFlow, RxJava.
• Should have experience in PWA. Progressive Web App
• Experience with development tools and services: Android Studio, Git, Figma, Firebase, Play Console.
• CI/CD experience with Fastlane, GitHub Actions, or similar automation tools.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON/XML, authentication, and data security.
• Experience working with web services and local databases (SQLite).
• Expertise in testing frameworks: JUnit, Mockito, Espresso, automated UI testing.
• Solid understanding of offline storage, background processing, performance tuning, security, and unit testing.
