Analyst/Senior Analyst PV Design Engineer

As a member of the Design and Engineering team at DESRI India Private Limited, based in Hyderabad, India, you will have the opportunity to work on detailed PV plant designing for utility-scale projects with a focus on production optimization and analytics. Your role will involve interacting with teams based in the U.S. and Hyderabad, as well as external parties, to support DESRI's portfolio of wind, solar, and storage projects. You will be part of a small, inclusive, highly skilled team that values collaboration, thoughtful problem-solving, and attention to detail. Your responsibilities will include working on tasks such as DC/MV/HV cable schedules, DC cable sizing, MV/HV cable sizing, voltage and power drop calculations, reactive power calculation, and capacitor bank calculations. You will play a crucial role in providing suggestions and inputs to optimize production by studying the layout of the projects. Additionally, you will be expected to simulate energy yield using tools like PVSyst, analyze energy yield based on different combinations of plant components, and assess the impact of various weather parameters and constraints on energy production. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) in electrical engineering or a Master of Technology (M. Tech) in Renewable/Solar Energy/Power Systems, along with up to six years of experience in utility-scale solar plant designing and energy estimation. Proficiency in tools like PVSyst, Python, and advanced MS Excel is essential. You should have a solid understanding of AC/DC electrical power systems and be able to effectively communicate conclusions through structured presentations and data visualizations. Additionally, proficiency in SQL, data analytics, and data visualization tools like Power BI is desired. Moreover, you should possess excellent knowledge of solar weather data analysis, data analytics skills, familiarity with IEC and NEC codes and standards, experience in the commissioning of solar plants, and field experience.
