As an Analyst at American Express, you will be a valuable part of the Global Spend Insights & Analytics team, contributing to the development and maintenance of Global Spend/Industry/Merchant dashboards. Your role will involve enhancing risk control through the implementation of analytic solutions such as anomaly detection algorithms. Key Responsibilities: - Support the ownership of AXP Spend Dashboards by conducting data quality checks, automation, synthesizing results, and effectively communicating insights. - Contribute to strengthening risk control by developing documentation and implementing analytic solutions like anomaly detection logic, refining, monitoring, and communicating with stakeholders. - Utilize large and complex datasets to extract meaningful insights, conduct analyses to inform business decisions, and provide actionable recommendations. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, business relevance, and deliver actionable outputs. - Present analyses and findings to a diverse range of audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders. Qualifications: - Proficiency in SQL, Hive, Python, Pyspark, and Machine Learning Techniques. - Previous experience in reporting, including data visualization, KPIs tracking, and scorecards, is advantageous. - Demonstrated intellectual curiosity about business trends and P&L management. Experience in Finance/Corporate Planning is a bonus. - Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data topics to non-technical audiences. - Experience with data modeling, anomaly detection, or similar analytical techniques. - Bachelor's degree is required, while a master's degree is preferred in areas such as Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, Computer Science, or related quantitative fields.
