The role includes working across hardware, firmware, and systems engineering teams to bring efficient and cost-effective AC charging solutions to market. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and support the end-to-end development of AC EV chargers up to 3.3 kW (single-phase wall box or pedestal chargers). • Design AC-DC conversion topologies, control algorithms, and protection circuitry aligned with application and regulatory needs. • Ensure compliance with IEC 61851-1, IS 17017, and other applicable standards. • Integrate charger control with backend protocols like OCPP (1.6/2.0.1) for networked charging features. • Optimize designs for cost, size, thermal performance, and manufacturability. • Coordinate with firmware, mechanical, and compliance teams for integrated product development. • Drive EMI/EMC compliance testing, safety certifications (CE, BIS, etc.), and field validation. • Support failure analysis, root cause diagnosis, and design improvements based on field feedback. • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation including schematics, BOMs, test plans, and validation reports. Skills & Competencies: • Strong understanding of low-power AC-DC converters, PFC topologies, and power stage design. • Familiarity with single-phase electrical systems, insulation and safety requirements. • Knowledge of charging protocols • Proficiency in tools like Altium, OrCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice/PSIM. • Hands-on experience with charger firmware interface, embedded control (e.g., STM32, TI C2000). • Ability to analyze power electronics circuits for thermal performance, protection, and efficiency. • Experience with test instruments (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, EMC pre-compliance tools). • Basic understanding of OCPP and communication stacks (Modbus, CAN, RS485). • Strong problem-solving, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
